As a parent myself, there is no nightmare more frightening to me than the idea of losing one of my children.
Of course, try as I might to protect and shield them from the world, there’s only so much one can do. You live in hope that your children will live long, happy, healthy lives, free of torment and pain. Sadly, that’s not always the case.
A family has spoke out on their devastation after losing two of their children to suicide in the past year.
According to Metro, 21-year-old Dyllon Beadle was found dead at his home in Manchester two months before the anniversary of the date upon which his younger sister Quinn took her own life last December.
His mother, Tracy, said: “Our beautiful son Dyllon decided that this world was just too cruel for him.
“He took the awful decision to take his own life just as his little sister Quinn did in December. He was haunted by her death and couldn’t live without her. They are together again and that is some comfort.
“I think I always knew Dyllon would do this because I knew he couldn’t bear to be without her, but I hoped he could have held on a bit longer. This world is a darker place without them. Our hearts are broken.”
Quinn was found hanged on December 9, 2018 and her death greatly impacted upon elder brother Dyllon, who put his studies on hold and took a job in a cocktail bar.
In the lead-up to his death, their family had established a charity called Quinn’s Retreat, one aiming to give respite to families of suicide victims.
Tracey has said she plans on scattering her children’s ashes together and will rename the charity Quinn and Dyllon’s Retreat.
All our thoughts and prayers go out to Tracey and the rest of the family. We can’t begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling now.
