Quick-thinking Chick-fil-A employee jumps through drive-thru window to save choking customer

It’s a question many of us ask and get asked after a day’s work, and usually our answers are fairly boring.

On June 26, a Chick-fil-A employee had a rather eventful day at work when one of his customer’s pulled through the Georgia drive-thru.

“I’m still kind of shocked right now myself that all this has happened,” Logan Simmons, the heroic teen, told Channel 2 in Atlanta.

While Logan was working at the Flowery Branch Chick-fil-A, he noticed a customer in distress.

“I just jumped out the window and ran straight down to the car,” he said. “I think it was the quickest option. It was right there and I saw the other car right there.”

After Logan cleared the drive-thru window he ran to a car where a mother pleaded for help. Somehow her son became tangled in his seatbelt and it was choking him.

“You could see he was turning red and losing pigmentation in his face.”

Logan used a pocketknife to free the boy.

Even though Logan saved the child’s life, he remained humble. His mother, Teri Simmons, said it wasn’t until a few hours after her son had been home that he nonchalantly mentioned he saved a life.

“I’m amazed he didn’t panic. As his mother, I would have panicked. I’d be running around going,  ‘Oh my gosh! What do we do?’”

Let’s give a round of applause to Logan’s quick thinking.

Without him this could have been a tragedy.
